The Benefits of Using Wheel Spacers on Nissan Titan

The Nissan Titan is truly a refreshing full-size pickup truck. It’s named after the Titans of Greek mythology and has been in production since 2003. The car is a true performer on the road. It gives the best reliability when in good condition. It’s a truck capable of serving its owner for the longest time if the right attention is given to it. How can an owner support his/her Nissan Titan?

Choosing Bolt Pattern & Thickness

The vehicle is Equipped with Lug Nuts

In case your vehicle is equipped with the lug nuts, the wheel studs will bulge off the hub and the process will be less straightforward. Using a few washers of same size on each side of the stud will do the trick. Check the wheel fitment to make sure the caliper clearance is just right. Beware spinning the wheel at this stage as it can hurt the construction. If you spot a room for an extra clearance, you can always assemble one more washer to each stud.

Should you experience clearance problems at the break, you’ll want to add an appropriate amount of thickness so as to clear the caliper. According to experts, a clearance of between 1-3 millimeters will work. You can also pass a piece of paper to confirm that you have the right thickness. A clearance of even the slightest amount will give you the spacing you need. This will not change even when the wheel is bolted and tweaked to the right torque.

It sounds like a no-brainer but we will say it again. Decreasing the caliper clearance with spacers you shift your wheels closer to the fender. So you need to do some math and reserve enough space in between unless you want the tires of your beautiful Nissan Titan rub against the fender.

After you come up with the ideal clearance on each end, feel free to remove the washers. Guess what? Washer thickness equals the size of the wheel spacer that you need to buy for your vehicle. Be patient to reach the point at which you will have the same number of washers on each stud for your targeted spacing.

The vehicle is Equipped with Lug Bolts

The procedure for wheels with lug bolts get a little bit more complicated but still straightforward. To get started, thread the wheel bolts through the wheel and attach the washers to the bolts on the rear side.

You would want to keep the wheel in the vertical position as it will prevent the washers from slipping away. Be cautious to add as many washers as you need to arrive at the desired fitment. Check out the width of the washer on each bolt and here you are.

Installing Wheel Spacers on Nissan Titan

Wheel spacers are an affordable way to improve the appearance and stance of your car. For models produced between 2015 and 2018, the extra backspace presents an opportunity to run wider tires and showcase an aggressive look and have better clearance.

  1. Check your tires to restrict the vehicle’s movement and jack it up.
  2. Loosen the lug nuts and remove the wheel. Remove the retaining clips if present. This eliminates vibration as the spacer sits comfortably on the surface of the rotor.
  3. Fix the spacers as shown below.
  4. Re-install your wheel in accordance with the manufacturer’s specifications.
  5. Re-torque your wheels periodically and inspect all the components visually. You can have this done during regular vehicle service checks.
